The Villa Gallarati Scotti of Fontaniva dates back to 16th century. The shapes are elegant, the first family was Da Fontaniva and the next, matrimonial way, was Orsato family.
In the following centuries the villa was used in different ways, first of all the villa was a meteorological observatory, then a hospital during the First World War.
Famous personalities from the political and art world stayed in the villa such as Puccini, Croce, De Gasperi and Cadorna general.
Since 1925, the villa has been declared National Monument. The villa is surrounded by a natural environment thanks to an English garden perfectly conserved. The characteristic of the romantic garden are gentle declines, sinuous paths, little streams and a frame of trees that enrich the central body of water.
The Villa is open if you want to visit it, groups, single or couple. It is also possible to visit inside the room. Upon request, it is possible to organize conventions, cultural events, courses and meetings.
