The Squarano estate is located in the heart of the most classic Valpolicella, on a hill sorrounded by vineyards, cherry trees and cypresses. Here Marchesi Fumanelli are producing graoes and fine wines since 1470. The first vineyards were implanted on the remains of ancient Roman ruins. There are numerous inscriptions amd acrheological artifacts alla round including the ruins of a temple dedicated to Goddess Flora. The name of the near village “San Floriano”probably descends from here. In 1998 the ancient tuff cellars were completely restored and still hold the oak barrels where the classical Valpolicella wines get old.
